Delivered! (Winter 2025)

The Goodwill Container project began with our first outreach to Cuba in 2011. FirstChurch team members carried old suitcases bought at the Goodwill store full of Bibles, children’s medications, water filters, laptops and other resources requested by the pastors. Tense relations between the U.S. and Cuba guaranteed our bags would always be subject to a thorough search by customs authorities at the Havana airport. However, our mission in Cuba has been sanctioned by a “higher authority” and covered with the faithful prayers of our FirstChurch partners, and we are happy to report that every dollar of aid has found its way to the Cuban people.

Two years ago God began to challenge our faith to go beyond a few suitcases to raise support for a 40’ shipping container that would provide 100,000 meals to resource feeding programs for the children and the elderly. Last month that container was delivered, and today forty five Cuba for Christ pastors are delivering food and the “bread of life” to communities all  across the island. Plans are already in the works for delivery of a second container later this year and your support would be greatly appreciated. Please visit our web site at www.firstchurch33.org for more information on how you can donate to this project or sponsor one of the twenty two pallets of food ($1,000 each) … it would make God smile!

Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up before God as a memorial offering before God. (Acts 10:4)
